Well this was a do-nothing week haha. I was on vacation, learned no Japanese, and had a blast doing it 😆 I hope you all had a more productive one though.

Because of this, no other articles on site, but lots in the works including a deep dive into Pigeon Forge (our vacation destination), more about learning Japanese, and a big life update.

Until then, here are a few great articles I wrangled together, including one that goes wayyyyy back to when I posted my first giant update and mentioned...Acedia.

I've discovered I can show previews!! This is way cooler than my old link method #Upgrades #TookTwentyTries (<--also a tongue twister, have fun)

Acedia: the lost name for the emotion we’re all feeling right now
The ancient term ‘acedia’ describes the paradoxical combination of jangling nerves and vague lack of purpose many of us are feeling now. Reviving the label might help.

ACEDIA: There's a lot to this word and it's effect on our lives, but this article does a great job tying it in with the current pandemic and our dissatisfaction with all the consumption we've been doing...

Here’s How Highly Successful People Make Little Choices Different From the Rest of us
It’s simple: If you want to live an exceptional life, you can’t behave like everyone else.

SUCCESS: Let's be real, we read these to go "Ooo, I do that!" followed quickly by a "welll, I kinda do that" and ending with a "man, I'm gonna be successful." It's all good though, I'm here to feed the addiction 😉😂

Why Reading Books Should Be Your Priority, According to Science
You’re not doing yourself any favors if you’re in the 26 percent of American adults who haven’t read even part of a book within the past year.

READING: It's wild that so many people don't read (26% stop after high school), but in doing so, we stagnate and let life happen. Reading (even things like my Brupdates and associated articles) allow us to grow and expand our horizons, especially when we think we know everything.

Email me if you like this "preview" format better? I'm always looking to make these more fun and useful so your feedback helps :)
